SHOOT: Storybrooke Thugs Robert Carlyle & Emilie de Ravin in Steveston for ONCE UPON A TIME 2×21

So Rumplestiltskin/Mr. Gold (Robert Carlyle) is escalating his bad behaviour in Storybrooke to woo Belle’s cursed self Lacey (Emilie de Ravin). As I’ve said before, this is not RumBelle. More like The Dark One and the Tramp. How nasty will it get? An ABC.com preview of the first eight minutes of next Sunday’s penultimate episode shows us. The scene below opens with Dr. Whale (David Anders) on the ground outside The Rabbit Hole. looking up at the sole  Mr. Gold’s boot. Whale’s crime: “You stared at her and I know how you think,” Mr. Gold pronounces as Lacey giggles, dressed in her signature barfly style of short dress, fishnets and heels.

It looks like Mr. Gold will give Dr. Whale a good stomping until Baelfire/Neal grabs his father from behind.

“What the hell are you doing?” son says. “This doesn’t concern you,” father replies.  They scuffle. “You’re unreal you know,” son says. “You spend years looking for me and then when I come to town you disappear.” Son talks about his impending marriage to Tamara but father is unimpressed, sure that son is “carrying a torch for Emma”.  This exasperates son even more: “You know you haven’t changed one bit. For a second I thought you might….started to think maybe you’re worth my time.” Father replies “And yet you’re still here.” Son gets the final dig in as he walks away: “For Henry, not you. As far as I’m concerned you can stay away from all of us.” Will father try to be better for his son?

Once Upon a Time crew filmed this from several different camera angles but I only caught part of it from a distance. Fans who stayed on met and got photos with Robert Carlyle and Emilie de Ravin after they wrapped the scene. Like all of the Rumple and Lacey scenes it looked like a fun one for the actors to shoot.

Once Upon a Time’s penultimate episode of season two airs this Sunday at 8 p.m. on ABC in the U.S. and 7 p.m. on CTV in Canada.
