Why did Psych turn half a block of Gastown into jolly old England yesterday? Crew dressed the Lamplighter Pub as The Bloody Bucket Public House, placed a red telephone box on the cobble stones, had black London cabs drive by during scenes and dotted the block with various Brit types as background. Look at how James Roday’s Shawn “Psychic” Spencer is dressed [in a Smokey and the Bandit costume]. And Dule Hill’s Burton “Gus” Guster looks like someone who escaped Hogwarts from the Harry Potter movies. BFFs Shawn and Gus did meet up inside the pub for afternoon scenes and later filmed more scenes in Blood Alley behind the pub still dressed in costume. Psych’s very-tall creator Steve Franks was on set too but probably wouldn’t have revealed much if I’d asked, What is going on?
