The cast of Package Deal must have wondered if City was ever going to air their sitcom, after the premiere was pushed back from early this year to March and then late June. But who can be mad about a Fall launch? Especially one that comes with all the hoopla of an upfront in Toronto, including a cast appearance on Breakfast Television Toronto and then a chance to share a green room with Eva Longoria before taking the stage at the Rogers Upfront yesterday.
Package Deal is about three dysfunctionally close brothers and the woman who comes between them, illustrated by the His, Hers, His and His mugs on the show’s key art. Lawyer Danny (Randal Edwards) meets the perfect woman Kim (Julia Voth) who thinks he’s too good to be true until she encounters the two older brothers who raised him and won’t let go –womanizing meat salesman Sheldon (Harland Williams) and dumped house-husband Ryan (Jay Malone). Will Danny ever be his own man?

Add big Canadian guest-stars like Eugene Levy and Pamela Anderson to the mix and Package Deal has a good chance of success following simulcast How I Met Your Mother in a competitive fall market, as long as it’s funny. And it is. Harland Williams especially.
Package Deal will air this fall on Mondays at 8:30 p.m. on City in Canada.
