A fan found herself in the right place at the right time yesterday when Supernatural crew emerged from inside the University of British Columbia’s Doug Mitchell Thunderbird Sports Arena at lunchtime to set up for a hospital grounds exterior on the path between the arena and the Life Sciences Centre. Is Sam still ill from last season’s trials in the season 9 premiere? [Update: Or is he coming out of hospital cured because of something Dean has done?]
The scene: Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) Winchester, dressed in their hunter coats, jeans and boots, walk and talk south along the path from the Life Sciences Centre to a path intersection (photographed below) where they have a long discussion as background performers in wheelchairs, scrubs and white lab coats move around them.
Jensen’s wife Danneel Harris Ackles was spotted on set too but not their baby girl, Justice Jay. In between takes, crew held umbrellas over Ackles and Padalecki in their hunter costumes to give them some respite from the sun. After wrapping these hospital grounds exteriors on the path, Supernatural moved inside the parking garage in the background of the photos above for more filming.
