RENEWED: Syfy Picks Up CONTINUUM For Third Season in the U.S.

IF

Already renewed for a third season on Showcase  in Canada, Continuum was picked up for a third season on Syfy in the U.S. today. Some had worried that the move to Friday nights on the American channel would prove to be a death slot for the critically-acclaimed show, but the Vancouver-cop-from-the-future-series, starring Rachel Nichols, has bettered its ratings there.

According to TVLine, which broke today’s renewal scoop, Continuum is the top original cable drama in its Friday night time slot in key U.S. adult demographics while averaging 1.8 million viewers a week after DVR playback, up 21% from the first season.

Continuum’s season two finale airs this Sunday, August 4th, in Canada  and almost a month later on Friday, August 30th, in the U.S.
