SHOOT: MOTIVE Films Season Two Premiere Proposal on Coal Harbour Seawall

UPDATE: The man (David Alpay) proposing is The Killer in the season two premiere of Motive.

Could this lovely couple on the Coal Harbour seawall be The Killer and/or The Victim in a season two episode of Motive? Vancouver’s own crime drama is a whydunit not a whodunit, focusing on why a murder is committed rather than who did it. We learn who The Killer and The Victim are at the top of the show and then follow along with detectives Angie Flynn (Kristin Lehman) and Oscar Vega (Louis Ferreira) as they solve the murder and uncover the reasons behind it.

Motive filmed this marriage proposal scene close to suppertime on Friday night near Harbour Air and the Vancouver Convention Centre. The young couple (David Alpay and Amanda Crew) walk down the stairs and start dancing to some music as he drops to his knees and proposes. Crew filmed the  proposal multiple times with a tracking shot and a hand held camera, along with background performers.

Motive’s second season will air on CTV in Canada next year. Producers are still waiting word on whether the show’s  summer run on American network ABC is renewed or cancelled.
