Based on a 70s show, The Tomorrow People is The X-Men without “silly costumes”, as someone put it, and tells the story of a group of young people who represent the next stage in human evolution. High school student Stephen Jameson (Robbie Amell) discovers he has the power of teleportation when he wakes up shirtless in a strange couple’s bed. Then he discovers others like him who have the special powers of telekinesis and telepathy: people like Cara (Peyton List), John (Luke Mitchell) and Russell (Aaron Yoo). But a paramilitary group of scientists called Ultra are hunting them down, led by the sadistic Dr. Jedikiah Price (Mark Pellegrino). And the only way to survive is to evolve.
The Tomorrow People filmed scenes of Stephen (Robbie Amell) and Cara (Peyton List) walking and talking through a crowd of business people in and around Oceanic Plaza and then suddenly breaking into a run. That seems to happen a lot with The Tomorrow People but it’s to be expected when you’re being hunted. Two of Dr. Jedikiah Price’s henchmen chased a hooded person up the stairs in earlier sequences.
Near Guiness Tower.
In Oceanic Plaza.
The Tomorrow People debuts Wednesday, October 9th, on The CW’s #AmellWednesdays.
