WEEK: November 11-17, 2013

  • Sunday, November 17th – Almost Human premieres on FOX and Global TV. In the year 2048, a traumatized Los Angeles detective John Kennex (Karl Urban) wakes up from a 17-month coma with a robotic leg  and emotional scars. He returns to the force, skeptical of the mandate that requires human officers to be paired with combat-ready androids for their protection. But his new android partner is different  — Dorian (Michael Ealy) has human emotions. Together this part-robot human and part-human robot are Almost Human. Minka Kelly, Lili Taylor, Mackenzie Crook and Michael Irby co-star with guest appearances from John Laroquette.   • Sunday, November 17th – Once Upon a Time 3×08 Think Lovely Thoughts airs on ABC and CTV.  Peter Pan (Robbie Kay) tries to convince Henry (Jared Gilmore) that he can save magic and Neverland; a young Rumplestiltskin receives a magical item that could give him a fresh start with his father.
  • Sunday, November 17th – Witches of East End 1×07 Unburied airs on Lifetime. The shifter summons a familiar face; Ingrid (Rachel Boston) makes a discovery about her past; a novelist visits East End to do research for his book; Wendy (Madchen Amick) tries to get serious with Leo (Freddie Prince Jr.); Joanna (Julia Ormand) reads Freya (Jenna Dewan Tatum)’s tarot cards.
  • Saturday, November 16th – If I Stay films at University of British Columbia
  • Friday, November 15th – Hawaii Five-O 4×08 Akanahe inserts Kono (Grace Park) into big Tokyo-set scene of 5-O kidnapping and then Kono and her cousin Chin Ho Kelly (Daniel Dae Kim) talking outside, both inserts filmed at the Terminal City Ironworks complex in east Vancouver.
  • Friday, November 15th – Almost Human films Michael Ealy in a downtown deluge on the Hornby Plaza.
  • Friday, November 15th – M. Night Shyamalan event series Wayward Pines films at a house on Burke Mountain in Coquitlam.
  • Friday, November 15th – Netflix saves The Killing for a final fourth season of six episodes to wrap up story of Seattle police detectives Sarah Linden (Mireille Enos) and Stephen Holder (Joel Kinnaman).
  • Friday, November 15th – Entertainment Weekly previews Fifty Shades of Grey stars Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson ahead of early December filming in Vancouver.
  • Friday, November 15th – World of Warcraft changes its production code name to Lost in Gastown.
  • Friday, November 15th -Vancouver-cop-from-the-future series Continuum has cast table read for episode 3×01.
  • Friday, November 15th – TVLine reports Nicholas Lea of X-Files fame cast on Arrow.
  • Thursday, November 14th -Filmed-in-front-of-live-Burnaby-audience sitcom Package Deal 1×07 Sheldon Pretends to be Danny airs on City. Sheldon (Harland Williams)uses Danny (Randal Edwards)?s apartment (and identity) to seduce women. Ryan (Jay Malone) tries to run into his ex-wife’s beau.
  • Thursday, November 14th – Once Upon a Time in Wonderland 1×05 airs on ABC. How Anastasia (Emma Rigby) becomes the Red Queen, and leaves the Knave of Hearts (Michael Socha) heartbroken.
  • Thursday, November 14th – Second of final five episodes of filmed-in-front-of-live-Burnaby audience teen sitcom Mr. Young airs on YTV, starring Brendan Meyer, Matreya Fedor, Gig Morton and Milo Shandel.
  • Thursday, November 14th – Almost Human explodes  a trailer in a controlled stunt near Great Northern Way campus.
  • Thursday, November 14th – Once Upon a Time films #SwanCaptain scene with Jennifer Morrison and Colin O’Donoghue in Stanley Park as Manhattan near Lumberman’s Arch.
  • Thursday, November 14th – TVLine shares Flowers in the Attic trailer starring Kiernan Shipka and Ellen Burstyn.
  • Wednesday, November 13th – Arrow 2×06 Keep Your Enemies Closer airs on The CW. Diggle (David Ramsey) goes to Moscow to rescue Lyla, who disappeared looking for Deadshot. Oliver (Stephen Amell) and Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) help rescue Lyla from prison. Oliver gets it on with Isabel (Summer Glau) who insisted on accompanying them to Russia on the corporate jet. The Tomorrow People 1×06 Sorry for Your Loss airs on The CW.  Russell (Aaron Yoo) head home for his fathers funeral accompanied by John (Luke Mitchell) while Stephen (Robbie Amell) and Cara (Peyton List) rescue a new breakout from Ultra, filmed in Oceanic Plaza downtown. And Jedikah (Mark Pellegrino) is secretly getting it on with one of the Tomorrow People.#AmellWednesdays
  • Wednesday, November 13th – Once Upon a Time films at Lord Strathcona School with Snow (Ginnifer Goodwin) and Henry (Jared Gilmore) in outside scene and inside Gastown’s Koret Lofts.
  • Wednesday, November 13th – Falling Skies films in the Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden.
  • Wednesday, November 13th – Bates Motel films in north Langley.
  • Wednesday, November 13th – Vancouver crime whydunit series Motive films at 300 Bute Street and in Harbour Green Park in Coal Harbour.
  • Tuesday, November 12th – Supernatural 9×06 Heaven Cant Wait airs on the CW. Cas and a Baby: Castiel (Misha Collins), now working at an Idaho Gas ‘n’ Sip, leads Dean (Jensen Ackles) to a case of a “Hands of Mercy” angel killing humans in emotional pain. Dean investigates while giving Cas dating advice but it turns out Cas is babysitting not dating. Fringe’s Michael Kopsa guest stars as local Sheriff.
  • Tuesday, November 12th – The Tomorrow People films in Gastown at Victory Food Market, Arch Alley, an alley leading to Woodwards Development  and underground in Woodwards Development.
  • Tuesday, November 12th – Falling Skies films in the Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden. Fan Sean Koo meets two of four Masons — Tom (Noah Wyle) and Hal (Drew Roy) near set.
  • Tuesday, November 12th – Bates Motel films in north Langley.
  • Tuesday, November 12th – Almost Human films at the Vancouver International Airport.
  • Tuesday, November 12th – Once Upon a Time films in a Delta park.
  • Tuesday, November 12th – Hawaii Five O films Vancouver scenes with a prop Vancouver, B.C. cab in Kaimuki, Hawaii.
  • Tuesday, November 12th – If I Stay stars Chloe Moretz, Jamie Blackley and Liana Liberato use time off to go skating up on Grouse Mountain.
  • Tuesday, November 12th  – Blockbuster movie Man of Steel,starring Henry Cavill as Superman, Rusell Crowe as Jor-el, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Diane Lane and Kevin Costner as Ma and Pa Kent and Michael Shannon as General Zod, available in DVD, Blu-ray and for streaming.
  • Monday, November 11th – Falling Skies  2×05 Love and Other Acts of Courage airs on Showcase. Hal (Drew Roy) bonds with Maggie (Sarah Carter) in scenes filmed at  Canada Way Business Park in Burnaby and Riverview Hospital in Coquitlam.
  • Monday, November 11th – The CW picks up The Tomorrow People for a full season.
  • Monday, November 11th – Tomorrowland films in Walt Disney World’s Carousel of Progress in Orlando, Florida, with 1964 set dressing and extras.
  • Monday, November 11th – Once Upon a Time hits season low again at 6.6 million viewers and a 2.1 in the demographic.
