Earlier this month, the eight-part BBC America series Intruders filmed cop-turned-writer Jack Whelan (John Simm) and [his high school friend Gary Fischer (Tory Kittles)] companion walking from the northeast corner of Victory Square near the Cenotaph up to the southwest corner. [Fischer has asked Whelan for help in investigating a possible murder]. In between takes, Simm hung out on the corner as passersby walked by oblivious to Doctor Who’s The Master in their midst.
This walk-and-talk sequence eventually made its way up Hamilton Street to the Burnell Lytton Chartered Accountants set.
The Intruders is about a secret society whose members aim to live forever by hijacking other people’s bodies, based on the 2007 Michael Marshall novel of the same name. Whelan (John Simm) leaves Los Angeles for the Pacific Northwest in a bid to escape a dark past, but his sins comes back to haunt him when his wife Amy (Mira Sorvino who plays two characters in one body) goes missing. Do the Intruders have her? Yes they do.
