Gracepoint: Welcome to America’s Last Hometown. Main Street Since 1856.
After four months of filming, the Gracepoint banners will come down on Oak Bay Avenue in Oak Bay Village, one of four hubs in the greater Victoria area which played the northern California coastal town: Oak Bay Village, home to the Gracepoint Journal, the Crestview Inn and Main Street; Saanich, home to the crime scene and Harvey Ridge Hut set at Island View Beach as well as the church and school; Brentwood Bay with its harbour; and Sidney, home to the Gracepoint Police Station set and morgue. On Friday, Gracepoint Productions showed “class” with full-page “It’s a Wrap!” ads in several local papers to thank everyone in greater Victoria for letting the filming take over their neighbourhoods.

Gracepoint star David Tennant, who reprised his Broadchurch role as the lead detective investigating a boy’s death in a small seaside town, had left for England already to start work on the second season of the original series — changing locale, character, cast and accent in a matter of days.
Gracepoint filming went on without him in greater Victoria through Friday. [And wrapped overnight the following Tuesday in the beautiful Esquimalt Lagoon via Cathy O’Connor @DustypupVI.]

Next Thursday and Friday, the set sale in Saanich will be underway and Gracepoint Productions will be done on Vancouver Island. Update: Gracepoint banners, other signage and costumes specific to characters not available at the sale because they might be needed for reshoots or possible season two filming.
The murder-mystery event Gracepoint will air Thursdays at 9 p.m. on FOX this Fall.
