UPDATE: Behind The Hit: The Unauthorized, Untold Story of Saved By the Bell premieres Labour Day Monday, September 1st, on Lifetime in the U.S. and M3 in Canada.
What was my first clue that The Hollywood Theatre in Kitsilano had turned into early 1990s California for Lifetime movie Behind The Hit: The Unauthorized, Untold Story of Saved By the Bell? The 1991 movie Hudson Hawk starring Bruce Willis on the billboard. Plus a beater car with a California license plate parked out front. The tell-all movie based on a book by Dustin Diamond, one of the sextet who starred in the TV series from 1989-1993, will reveal what really went on behind the scenes at Bayside High from cast threesomes to drugs and more drugs. Not the wholesome image of their on-screen characters.
Saved by the Bell Unauthorized films lineup into the movie.
Tiera Skovbye as Elizabeth Berkley who played bookworm Jessie Spano on the show.

On the left below is Sam Kindseth as Dustin Diamond who played Samuel “Screech” Powers and wrote the tell-all. And on the right, it’s Alyssa Lynch as Tiffani Amber-Thiessen who played girl-next-door Kelly Kapowski.. Just out of frame is Taylor Russell McKenzie as Lark Voorhies who played shopaholic Lisa Turtle.
UPDATE: Sam Kindseth as Dustin Diamond punches the guy in the middle outside the movie theatre.
Crew filmed the lineup with a small technocrane and two other cameras.
Dylan Everett (with blonde hair) as Mark-Paul Gosselaar who played Zack Morris on the show and Julian Works as Mario Lopez who played A.C. Slater may have been on set but I didn’t spot them among the backgrounders.
Buzzfeed got the first look at the cast for this TV movie. Check out Jaret Weiselman’s post.
