Period romance The Age of Adaline starring Blake Lively opens in theatres today. Born in the early 1900s, Adaline Bowman is blessed with eternal youth after a near-fatal accident. Our heroine embarks on a solitary, world journey through eight decades of the 20th century never aging beyond twenty-nine years. She never allows herself to get close to anyone to avoid exposure until she falls in love with a young philanthropist Ellis Jones (Game of Thrones’s Michiel Huisman) who might be worth losing her immortality to. Harrison Ford plays William Jones, an aged boyfriend of Adaline’s. And Ellen Burstyn is Adaline’s aged daughter.
The Age of Adaline filmed all over metro Vancouver a year ago in locations such as the Vancouver Art Gallery, the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver, St. Andrew’s Wesley Church, and many more. I saw Blake Lively in beautiful period costume as Adaline filming twice — at Barnet Beach Marine Park and at the University of British Columbia.

Blake Lively has been keeping her husband Ryan Reynolds company in Vancouver while he films Marvel movie Deadpool aka The Merc With a Mouth.
But she took time out to promote The Age of Adaline and for the premiere last Sunday with co-star Michael Huisman.
