Update: NBC pushed back medical soap Heartbreaker to mid-season to accomodate Melissa George’s pregnancy.
Is Heartbreaker NBC’s bid for its own Grey’s Anatomy? With Melissa George as the new Meredith and Dave Annable as the new McDreamy? Look for Heartbreaker on Tuesdays at 9 p.m. this Fall. From CBS star Amy Brenneman, medical soap Heartbreaker (formerly Heart Matters) is inspired by Dr. Kathy Magliato’s life and book, following female Californian heart-transplant surgeon Alex (Melissa George/Grey’s Anatomy) from week to week as she balances her professional and romantic life. Cast: Melissa George, Jamie Kennedy, Dave Annable, Shelley Conn, Maya Erskine, Joshua Leonard, D.L. Hughley, J Louis Mills. The pilot filmed in Coquitlam’s Riverview Hospital, among other metro Vancouver locations, with Amy Brenneman on set. But there is no word yet on whether Heartbreaker will film its series in metro Vancouver or Los Angeles.
