Why is Ryan Reynolds so bloodied in this photo taken on set at the Terminal City Ironworks compound in east Vancouver? Deadpool’s origin is Wade Wilson, the Merc With a Mouth. This wise-cracking amoral gun-for-hire has cancer, so he partakes in military experiments to cure himself by replicating Wolverine’s mutant ability to heal quickly. The experiment succeeds except Wilson ends up terribly scarred. So the non-stop quipster hides his ravaged face behind a red and black mask and breaks the fourth wall to talk to the audience.

Deadpool’s favourite location next to Vancouver’s Georgia Viaduct seems to be the Terminal City Ironworks compound on Franklin Street where filming got underway two months ago. The former manufacturing plant has a rundown look which suits the production, much like other known Deadpool filming locations: the Cobalt Hotel, No. 5 Orange strip club, Arch Alley and a junk yard under the Pattullo Bridge in Surrey.
Deadpool has filmed at the Terminal City Ironworks compound on and off for two months. It is scheduled there through Friday, May 22nd.

And filming of the Marvel movie is expected to wrap next week in Vancouver.
Extra’s Mario Lopez visited Ryan Reynolds on one of the industrial sets.
Why is it every time I see @VancityReynolds he tries to kill me? What’s up with that?! #Deadpool pic.twitter.com/j9iroycXvb
