Set in Los Angeles, Fear the Walking Dead starts earlier than The Walking Dead with the zombie outbreak in another part of the United States told through the blended family of a widowed high school guidance counsellor Madison Clark (Kim Dickens) and teacher Travis Manawa (Cliff Curtis), who’ve moved in together with their children — Madison’s druggy, dropout son Nick (Frank Dillane) and academic standout daughter Alicia (Alycia Debnam Carey) and Travis’s angry son Chris (Lorenzo James Henrie) who’s mad at his Dad for splitting from his Mom, Liza (Elizabeth Rodriguez). Other characters include Alicia’s boyfriend Matt (Maestro Harrell), Daniel (Ruben Blades), his wife Griselda (Patricia Reyes Spindola)and his daughter Ofilia (Mercedes Mason).

Are there zombies in Vancouver’s Business District today? The Walking Dead spinoff Fear The Walking Dead is filming in a closed off Eveleigh Street behind the Bentall Centre with prop Los Angeles emergency vehicles, Los Angeles Police Department Squad cars and some local L.A. TV satellite trucks. There may be one or two zombies in this melee but it’s no zombie herd…yet. Fear The Walking Dead — expected to film here from May 10th to June 19th — starts off as a prequel but over time the companion series will catch up to the full zombie apocalypse.
