SHOOT: Is that a FEAR THE WALKING DEAD Zombie Herd at Vancouver’s Former RCMP E Division Headquarters?

Updated this post about the June night I spent watching a zombie herd in Vancouver with details from the Fear the Walking Dead season finale on October 4th.

Is that a zombie herd I saw last night in Vancouver? Did companion series Fear the Walking Dead catch up to the zombie apocalypse of The Walking Dead?

Set in Los Angeles, the six-episode companion series starts earlier with the zombie outbreak in another part of the United States told through the blended family of a widowed high school guidance counsellor Madison (Kim Dickens) and teacher Travis (Cliff Curtis), who’ve moved in together with their children — Madison’s druggy, dropout son Nick (Frank Dillane) and academic standout daughter Alicia (Alycia Debnam Carey). Travis’s son Chris (Lorenzo James Henrie) is mad at his Dad for splitting from his Mom, Liza (Elizabeth Rodriguez). Other characters include Daniel Salazar (Ruben Blades), his wife Griselda (Patricia Reyes Spindola) and his daughter Ofilia (Mercedes Mason). People don’t know what’s happening at first but there are shootings, fires and riots breaking out across the country.

Last night’s scene: California soldiers on a hoist caution a lone man — Ruben Blades’s Daniel — not to enter the military compound (Vancouver’s former RCMP “E” Division headquarters). “I don’t want to shoot you old man”.  But it’s a different story when the herd shows up. The guns are “hot” and you could see the flames and  hear the sounds of (simulated) gunfire as they fire on the mob.

Judging from the size of the herd, there should bc several candidates for The Talking Dead’s In Memorium. Show called them “Daniel’s Invasion Walkers”.

Boys love walkers. Girls too. But it was the neighbourhood boys who ventured on set to have a better look during setup.
