DC’s Legends of Tomorrow is expected to be like an Ocean’s Eleven or Dirty Dozen-like caper movie with a squabbling group of heroes and villains joining together on what could be a suicide mission to defeat an enemy who threatens the planet — while trading quips along the way.
Doctor Who’s Arthur Darvill plays time-master Rip Hunter who leads a team of DC super heroes and villains — Victor Garber as Dr. Martin Stein, Brandon Routh as Ray Palmer/ the A.T.O.M, Caity Lotz as the White Canary, Wentworth Miller as Leonard Snart/Captain Cold, Dominic Purcell as Mick Rory/Heatwave, Ciara Renee as Kendra/Hawkgirl, Falk Hentschel as Carter Hall/Hawkman, Franz Drameh as Jax Jackson — to try to stop Vandal Savage (Caster Crump) who poses an unstoppable threat in the future.. A threat that puts the planet and time itself at risk. Legends of Tomorrow filmed a short presentation in Vancouver and shooting of the series is expected to start here on September 9th and debut on The CW mid-season.
Since the May upfronts, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow has announced that Carter Hall, aka Hawkman, will be joining DC’s Legends. He’s a 5,000-year-old man who can recall every past life and is “charismatic and wise beyond his years” and a “natural-born leader with an abundance of charm and confidence.” And appointed Phil Klemmer as showrunner.
Arrow and The Flash’s first few episodes — filming now — will set the table for the new series with origin stories for the Legends.
