Simon Barry’s Vancouver sci-fi series Continuum comes to an end tonight. What happens to Vancouver cop-from-the-future Kiera Cameron (Rachel Nichols)? Does she return home to 2077? And if so, what will that future look like? The fourth and final season has unfolded like a six-hour movie, sometimes confusing because of the ever-shifting alliances but cinematic in its scope.
In last week’s penultimate The Desperate Hours, Brad (Ryan Robbins) and the Time Marines from 2035 attacked the Vancouver Police Department to rescue Kellog (Stephen Lobos) from a holding cell. Kiera (Nichols) takes Kellog up to the roof where Brad is holding Alec Sadler (Erik Knudsen) hostage. They agree to swap.
“OK .Deal. Kellog for Alec” — Kiera to Brad.
I watched some of the roof-top sequence at the Plaza of Nations from the Georgia Viaduct.
Screenshots.
After the exchange, Brad and Kellog leave in a helicopter.
As part of the building implodes in a visual effect.
On the ground an angry Carlos (Victor Webster) blasts Kiera for her selfishness.
“Whatever your plan was, Brad blew it apart when he blew this place up. I want to destroy the asshole who did this to me and my people. You tell me where he is right now.” — Carlos to Kiera.
And so The Final Hour begins.
