Update: Series filmed in Los Angeles not Vancouver.
An American sniper on the run from the U.S. government. Ryan Phillippe (Secrets and Lies) plays the Bob Lee Swagger role in the USA Network pilot Shooter, filming on Vancouver’s BC Place concourse at Gate E today. Based on the movie starring Mark Wahlberg, Shooter is about a former Marine sniper who leaves the military and goes off the grid after his mission goes horribly wrong. His former-commanding-officer-now-secret-service-agent Isaac Johnson (Omar Epps) brings him back into service to help thwart a plot against the President but it turns out he’s been double-crossed and a national manhunt for Swagger ensues. The former Marine needs to use all his sharpshooter skills to avoid capture while he seeks revenge against the powerful men who framed him.
Here is Bob Lee Swagger (Ryan Phillippe) looking for sniper vantages as the Presidential motorcade pulls in to the Seattle Science and Robotics Center (filmed at the Plaza of Nations on Tuesday and Wednesday). Swagger gets a call and suddenly leaves his wife Julie (The Flash’s Shandal VanSanten). Will she see him again?
