Dead Rising: Endgame announced its cast this week as production hit the final stretch. Dubbed “Indiana Jones with zombies” the first Crackle streamer starred Jesse Metcalfe as reporter Chase Carter trapped in a quarantined zone in East Mission City, Oregon, during a massive zombie outbreak, after a government vaccine Zombrex from FEZA (Federal Emergency Zombie Authority) stops working.
He escapes but in the sequel directed by Continuum’s Pat Williams, Carter Chase (Metcalfe), his on-and-off girlfriend and computer hacker Sandra (The 100’s Marie Avgeropoulos) and an expanded crew go back undercover to infiltrate a secret laboratory, stop the carnage and expose General Lyons (Dennis Haysbert)’s rogue operation that sabotaged the Zombrex. New to the sequel is Big Bad scientist Rand (Billy Zane) who while hired to find a cure for the zombie plague has been conducting evil experiments on the infected.
The rest are a Vancouver-palooza of actors. Carter’s camera operator Jordan (Once Upon a Time’s Keegan Connor Tracy) returns and news producer Jill (iZombie’s Jessica Harmon), skilled zombie-killer-through-video-games (The Flash’s Patrick Sabongui) and the reluctant hero of the Dead Rising 2 video game Chuck Greene (Continuum’s Victor Webster) join the crew. Whistleblower George Hancock (Continuum’s Ian Tracey) is the one who persuades Chase and his team to pursue the story. And Susan Ingot (Camille Sullivan) is the CEO of the company that manufactures Zombrex. Casting news via Deadline Hollywood.
Dead Rising: Endgame began filming January 27th in Vancouver’s latest quasi-film studio — the old Canada Post building downtown. And was spotted outside on the street and on the roof.
