Fifty Shades Darker has booked one of Vancouver’s most historic mansions this month to film the famous Grey Masquerade Ball. The built-in-1932, Spanish revival mansion Casa Mia on SW Marine Drive played the Grey family home in Fifty Shades of Grey: the scene of a Grey family dinner with the Seattle-billionaire-with-singular-tastes Christian Grey (Jamie Dornan) his date Anastasia Steele (Dakota Johnson), his parents Dr. Grace Trevelyan-Grey (Marcia Gay Harden) and Carrick Grey (Andrew Airlie), his sister Mia (Rita Ori), his brother Elliot (Luke Grimes) and Elliot’s date, Ana’s roommate Kate (Eloise Mumford).

This time around, Casa Mia is expected to be the setting for the Grey masquerade ball where Ana meets the older woman Elena Lincoln (Kim Basinger) — “Mrs. Robinson” — who seduced the 15-year-old Christian into the world of S&M. Ana is shocked to learn Elena is still a big part of Christian’s life.

Casa Mia sits behind walls and is private. Among its features: a ballroom with a Commodore-style sprung floor and a nursery with Disney-style murals.
