Production on the Maze Runner: The Death Cure is expected to resume on May 9th, according to the DGC-BC Production List. Star Dylan O’Brien seriously injured himself last month performing a stunt on set at the Cache Creek Airport and production halted temporarily as he recovered and WorkSafe BC Prevention investigated the accident. O’Brien reportedly suffered “concussion, facial fracture and lacerations” on March 17th when his motorcycle slid to the ground. Director Wes Ball said at the time that O’Brien would be back to work in a few weeks.  More like seven or eight.

Cache Creek plays the desert landscape the Scorch in  the third film in the franchise.

Maze Runner author James Dashner tweeted reassurances the day after.

Director Wes Ball tweeted this note.

Well, it’s been a whirlwind of emotions these past few days. I’ve been overwhelmed with feelings of anger and sadness and guilt. But, ultimately I find myself left with a deep love and respect for Dylan. He is one tough cookie. I’m sorry for the grief this accident has caused his friends and family as well as my wonderful cast and crew. It’s scary seeing your friend get hurt, but fortunately, Dylan is going to be just fine. After a few weeks of rest and recovery he’ll be back up and running to finish our adventure together. All the best.

And The Flash sent best wishes.

The third film in the $600-million The Maze Runner trilogy — adapted from James Dashner’s novels — started March 14th and halted production four days later.. The Death Cure takes place a year or so after the Scorch Trials, with a grittier, more film noir look, according to the director Wes Ball. Thomas (Dylan O’Brien) and his fellow Gladers team up with resistance fighters Right Arm to shut down WCKD for good. Cache Creek plays the desert landscape the Scorch.
