The BC Film industry gathers today at the Point Grey Golf and Country Club for its 28th annual golf tournament named for American television producer Stephen J. Cannell, one of the founders of what is now North America’s third largest film and television production centre. In the late 1980s, Cannell and partner Paul Bronfman built North Shore Studios –then Canada’s largest production studio with seven sound stages. There he shot his hit series 21 Jump Street starring a young Johnny Depp and Wiseguy with Ken Wahl.
