London’s Erika Leonard (E. L. James) has been in Vancouver for five months producing two Fifty Shades sequels — Fifty Shades Darker and Fifty Shades Freed — adapted from her trilogy of novels. On set almost every day, this former head of production in British TV has given fans a rare behind-the-scenes look at the making of major movies and the “village” it takes to do it.

Sequels Fifty Shades Darker and Fifty Shades Freed shot in metro Vancouver for almost five months from mid-February to today.
James Foley directed the back-to-back productions based on scripts by Niall Leonard, Erika’s husband.
Fifty Shades Darker will be in theatres on February 16, 2017 and Fifty Shades Freed opens a year later on February 9, 2018.
