Hitchcockian thriller The Ninth Passenger — which will divide its time between Vancouver and Victoria — starts filming tomorrow. What’s it about? Eight college students partying on a biotech CEO’s luxury yacht find a ninth passenger aboard and everything goes wrong.
Directed by Ian Pfaff, the film was originally set in Florida but shooting on a yacht isn’t cheap (and Fear the Walking Dead’s Abigail on the Baja is booked). Victoria-born producer Corey Large decided to re-set the thriller on Vancouver Island and film the yacht sequences off the coast of Victoria. Jesse Metcalfe (Dead Rising), Alexa Fast (Manhattan), Tom Maden (Scream), Sabina Gadecki, Veronica Dunne, Corey Large and Victoria’s David Hennessy co-star.
