Arrow season 5 began filming today with Vancouver’s own James Bamford directing the first two episodes.

Premiere title: Legacy. Story by Greg Berlanti. Written by Marc Guggenheim and Wendy Mercle.
Where did we leave off? The Green Arrow (Stephen Amell) killed the season 4 Big Bad Damien Darhk. Star City asked his alter-ego Oliver Queen to become the interim Mayor. But Team Arrow is no more. The Black Canary (Katie Cassidy) is dead. Diggle (David Ramsey) re-enlisted in the army. Thea (Willa Holland) hung up her costume. And Quentin Lance (Paul Blackthorne) left town with Mama Smoak (Charlotte Ross). Only Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) remained standing next to Oliver in the empty Arrowcave.
Fans panned this downbeat ending but it sounds like Team Arrow won’t be apart for long. Diggle is getting an upgraded mask this season, courtesy of The Flash’s Cisco. And Curtis Holt (Echo Kellum) will play a bigger role on Team Arrow, becoming Arrow’s Cisco equivalent –the hardware to Felicity’s software.
Were just nerds at heart here on Arrow.

Oliver Queen will have a new ally to help clean up Star City streets in Adrian Chase (Josh Segarra), a District Attorney by day and Vigilante by night.
And the Green Arrow will get a new apprentice in Evelyn Crawford (Madison McLaughlin), the young fake Black Canary of last season who will become Artemis.
Who does Star City need saving from? Gangster Tobias Church (Chad Coleman)? Vigilante Wild Dog (Rick Gonzalez)?
Maybe retired wrestler Cody Rhodes in an undisclosed role. Rhodes’s Stardust faced off against Amell last year in a WWE Summer Slam match.
Other new characters include SCPD Detective Malone (Tyler Ritter) and Coast City reporter Susan Williams (Carly Pope) trying to get the scoop on Star City Mayor Oliver Queen.
Plus flashbacks in Russia.
“Arrow’s gonna be fucking mean this year,” Stephen Amell said in a getting-ready-for-season-5-workout-video on Facebook. The premiere will have the “most violent, vicious one shot….in the history of network television,” he said. A one shot that director and Arrow stunt coordinator James Bamford says Amell can do himself as long as he’s naked? If anyone can challenge Daredevil’s epic hallway fight scene filmed in one take, it’s James Bamford and the Arrow stunt team.
Director’s Prep for James Bamford.
Fathers Day view…..prepping like a madman!
