The sequel to the wildly popular fairy tale musical Disney’s Descendants — about the teenage children of classic Disney villains and heroes — stars Dove Cameron as Maleficent’s daughter Mal, Booboo Stewart as Jafar’s son Jay, Cameron Boyce as Cruella’s son Carlos and Sofia Carson as the Evil Queen’s daughter Evie, along with Mitchell Hope as King Ben, son of Belle and the Beast. New villain Descendants include China Anne McClain as Uma, daughter of Ursula, Thomas Doherty as Harry, son of Captain Hook and Dylan Playfair (Some Assembly Required) as Gil, son of Gaston (Beauty and the Beast). Directed and choreographed by Kenny Ortega (High School Musical), Descendants 2 began filming in Vamcouver, Victoria and Squamish in September — after weeks of rehearsals at the Bridge Studios — and wrapped at the end of October.
