Freddie Highmore, it’s like you never left. Highmore, who just wrapped five seasons of playing Psycho killer Norman Bates on Bates Motel, is coming back to metro Vancouver next month to star in ABC pilot The Good Doctor. The American adaption of a popular south Korean series is produced by David Shore (House creator) and Daniel Dae Kim (Lost/Hawaii Five-O actor).

The Good Doctor is about young, autistic medical savant Dr. Shaun Murphy (Freddie Highmore) who’s up for a job as surgeon at the San Jose St. Bonaventure Hospital under the mentorship of Dr. Ira Glassman. Not surprisingly, Murphy is brilliant at medicine but not great at relating to people. But he will make a special connection with Dr. Claire Browne (Antonia Thomas). The boss of surgical residents at the hospital is Dr. Neil Melendez (Nicholas Gonzalez).
