Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is here to  prep for his next big movie called Skyscraper which starts filming here on Monday, August 14th.

Skyscraper = Die Hard in Hong Kong?

Johnson stars as Will Ford, a former veteran and FBI hostage rescue team leader, who now assesses security for skyscrapers. When the world’s tallest, safest tower goes up in flames in Hong Kong while he’s on assignment, Johnson finds himself framed for the arson. How will he clear his name and rescue his family trapped in the tower above the fire line?

The Rock shared an inspirational message on Instagram last night of how he first came to Vancouver at the age of 22 with the Calgary Stampeders to play the B.C. Lions. He was cut from the team not long after but persevered and look at him now.

The 3D action thriller is expected to film in metro Vancouver from August 14th to November 17th.

Skyscraper will be in theatres next summer on July 13th, 2018.
