BIG-BUDGET: BAD TIMES AT THE EL ROYALE With Jeff Bridges & Chris Hemsworth To Film in Vancouver This Winter

Jeff Bridges and Chris Hemsworth’s shady characters check into a rundown hotel near Lake Tahoe in Bad Times at the El Royale, filming in Vancouver this winter.

Written and to-be-directed by Drew Goddard, the big-budget feature is about what happens when a convict, cult leader, young Southern girl and down-on-her-luck singer collide at this 1960s California hotel. Jeff Bridges (The Big Lebowski/Kingsmen: The Golden Circle) will be the convict pretending to be a priest so he can find loot he stashed at the hotel years before. Chris Hemsworth (Thor)  is the cult leader who wants to recapture a follower who got away. Cailee Spaeney is the young Southern girl hiding out in the hotel. Cynthia Erivo is the down-on-her-luck singer whose path crosses theirs.

Bad Times at the El Royale (working title Purple Harvest) is expected to film in metro Vancouver from January 29th to April 13th next year (dates subject to change).

Bad Times at the El Royale is scheduled to be  in theatres on October 5th, 2018.
