WORLD PREMIERE: THE MOUNTAIN BETWEEN US With Kate Winslet & Idris Elba Screens at TIFF Tonight

What If Your Life Depended On A Stranger?

A Winter Survival Romance. Filmed-in-BC The Mountain Between Us has its World Premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival tonight.

Adapted from the Charles Martin book, two strangers — photojournalist Alex Martin (Kate Winslet) and surgeon Ben Bass (Idris Elba)  –stranded at an airport in winter weather decide to charter a plane to get home. When the small plane crashes on a mountain, the  two strangers must forge a connection to survive freezing temperatures and snow. When they realize help is not coming, they embark on a journey across hundreds of miles of wilderness, pushing one another to endure and discovering strength they never knew possible.

Directed by Any Abu-Assad, Mountain Between Us filmed in various locations around Vancouver and spent a month near Invermere in the Kootenay Mountains.
