What’s the movie about?
A cast of characters collide violently at the El Royale, a run-down hotel in the 1960s near California’s Lake Tahoe, in a “60s noir thriller”. Chris Hemsworth, Dakota Johnson, Jeff Bridges, Cynthia Erivo and Cailee Spaeney star in the film.
Chris Hemsworth (Thor) is a charismatic cult leader looking to recapture a follower who got away.
Dakota Johnson (Fifty Shades)’s role is undisclosed but she was spotted around town with her boyfrien Chris Martin and out filming at the El Royale village set in Coquitlam.

Jeff “the Dude” Bridges is a convict pretending to be a priest so he can find stolen loot he stashed in the hotel years before.
Here he is in the heist gone wrong, filmed in Agassiz.

Tony winner Cynthia Erivo is a down-on-her-luck singer who crosses paths with the others.
Cailee Spaeney is a young Southern girl hiding out in the hotel.
Bad Times at the El Royale is Drew Goddard’s feature film followup to his horror hit The Cabin in the Woods. Next up for Goddard is writing and directing the Deadpool spinoff X-Force with Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool and Josh Brolin as Cable.
The noir thriller has been spotted in Agassiz, Coquitlam and downtown Vancouver.
And alarmed its neighbours on Sunday night near its Burnaby studio.
