Was that a green screen Sonic the Hedgehog driving a car really fast in downtown Vancouver this week? Ben Schwartz is voicing the blue blur and James Marsden is along for the ride as Tom, a sarcastic highway patrol cop who befriends Sonic.

Filming dates: July 30th to October 15th.

The Sonic movie (working title Casino Night) is Paramount’s live-action/animated adaption of video game Sonic the Hedgehog.

Cast: James Marsden, Jim Carrey, Tika Sumpter.

What’s it about?

Sonic the Hedgehog and his pals Tails and Knuckles team up to stop Dr. Eggman Robotnik’s plan for world dominaton.

Jim Carrey is Dr. Eggman Robotnik.

Neal H. Moritz and Deadpool director Tim Miller are producing.

The live action/animation adaption is written by Evan Susser, Van Robichaux, Patrick Casey and Josh Miller and directed by Jeff Fowler.
