Here’s the new Mountie Nathan Grant, played by Kevin McGarry, on When Calls the Heart.
He’s one of the two new “boys in town”.
The other is Chris McNally as charming gambler and saloon owner Lucas Bouchard.
When Calls the Heart is the story of Elizabeth Thatcher, a shipping magnate’s daughter accustomed to 19th century high society life, who goes to teach in the small coal mining town of Hope Valley, where a mining explosion has left many widows.
Elizabeth’s wealthy father ensures that RCMP Constable Jack Thornton (Daniel Lissing) is assigned to Hope Valley to protect his daughter. As Elizabeth adapts to the frontier lifestyle, she warms up to Jack and their series-long romance culminated in a wedding in season 5.
But her happiness was cut short in the season 5 finale when Jack died, leaving Elizabeth a widow with a baby on the way.
Other characters: Abigail Stanton (Lori Loughlin), Bill Avery (Jack Wagner), Rosemary Coulter (Pascale Hutton), Leland Coulter (Kavan Smith).
And there will be a new When Calls the Heart Christmas movie to bridge seasons 5 and 6.
Erin Krakow and Lori Loughlin introduce the new “boys in town” to Hearties.
The series is inspired by Janette Oke’s bestselling book series about the Canadian West and airs on the Hallmark Channel in the U.S. and CBC in Canada.
When Calls the Heart is expected to film from July 9th to October 31st in Langley.
