I think it’s been a good run. It’s no Supernatural but it’s been a good run. — Stephen Amell.

Arrow will come to an end this Fall. Stephen Amell made the announcement this afternoon.

“I think it’s been a good run. It’s no Supernatural but it’s been a good run,” a teary-eyed Stephen Amell said on facebook live.

It’s been one hell of a run. I promise we’ll finish the way we started.

He made the decision to leave because of his family.

Toward the end of season 6, I approached Greg Berlanti, who I will be thanking in a second, and said that I thought both personally and professionally that, at the end of my commitment this coming season, it would be the best for me to move on. — Amell on Facebook Live.

Here he is filming the crossover Elseworlds at Surrey City Hall last Fall.

Will this Fall’s crossover — Crisis on Infinite Earths —  be Oliver Queen’s farewell appearance? It fits with the announcement.

Oliver Queen is not the only Arrow character who will be missed.

Olicity — Oliver Queen and Felicity Smoak — is one of the most popular “ships” on the Internet.

Oliver and Felicity met, fell in love, got married and have baby Mia on the way.

Vancouver’s Emily Bett Rickards is Felicity.

I’ve been trying to find the words to simply say what the last seven years have meant to me, and I believe this photo sums its up! It’s a cuddle puddle. Everyone here is exhausted and smiling. Everyone here looks at home. The incredible mind of my friend @schwartzapproved will be taking Arrow into its 8th & final season sending it off with pride, power and love. Without this show I would have not met the inspiring people pictured here nor those I have gotten to work with and get to work with everyday. People who have become my family. I’m excited to see what is in store for the story we have been telling. I’m excited and nervous. A combination of emotions Felicity Smoak vibrates at frequently. Needless to say without the last seven years I wouldn’t have met her… Thank you to all of you for your massive support, passion and accompanying us on this journey. It’s because of you we found each other. 🥂

And let’s not forget Diggle played by David Ramsey, the other member of Original Team Arrow.

And so many more.

Colton Haynes.

Juliana Harkavy.

Arrow has filmed in British Columbia for almost seven seasons, spending over $360 million in the first five seasons and creating over 7,000 jobs, according to the Motion Picture Association – Canada.

I’ve been covering it since the pilot.

More to come.
