TV PILOTS: NANCY DREW Pilot Turns Horseshoe Bay, B.C. into Horseshoe Bay, Maine

Nancy Drew Pilot.

Kennedy McMann as Nancy Drew.

Teen detective Nancy Drew opts out of college to spend the summer working at a local lobster shack where a murder takes place in the CW pilot.

Films: March 25th to April 9th.

Cast: Kennedy McMann, Freddie Prinze Jr., Aliva August, Leah Lewis, Tunji Kasim, Maddison Jaizani, Alex Saxon.

Having recently lost her mother, 18-year-old Nancy Drew (Kennedy McMann) is at odds with her attorney father Carson (Freddie Prinze Jr.) and working at a local lobster shack, instead of attending Columbia, as she intended. A dedicated super-sleuth since childhood, Nancy has sworn off detecting — but when a woman is killed outside the restaurant, and she and her co-workers and boyfriend Nick wind up suspects in the case, she decides to snoop around and find out whodunnit. Things take a creepy turn when it appears that a long-dead local girl may have been the killer. Even more shocking, however, is Nancy’s realization that Nick is the obvious suspect in the case — an investigation that, in the long run, may prove hazardous to Nancy’s health.

Writer/Producer: Melinda Hsu Taylor.

Director: Larry Teng.

Nancy Drew has been spotted filming in New Westminster and other residential neighbourhoods of late. Is this where the Drews live?
