Amazon’s adaption of sci-fi female empowerment novel The Power by Naomi Alderman is expected to film in Vancouver next Spring.

Series filming dates: February 17th to October 27th, 2020.

Vancouver filming dates: March 23rd – July 8th, 2020.

Teen girls with the power to electrocute people at will awaken the Power in older women. Soon nearly every woman in the world can electrocute people with her bare hands giving women the physical upper hand over men. And everything is different.

Episodes: 10.

Cast: Leslie Mann, Auliʻi Cravalho, John Leguizamo, Toheeb Jimoh, Ria Zmitrowicz, Halle Bush, Heather Agyepong, Nico Hiraga, Daniela Vega.

Leslie Mann is Margot Cleary–Lopez, Mayor of Seattle and wife and mother to three kids.

Auliʻi Cravalho, who recently starred in Disney’s The Little Mermaid Live!,  is Margot Cleary-Lopez’s  daughter Jos.

Other characters:

Allie, a vulnerable American foster kid who reinvents herself as a faith leader.

Roxy, the daughter of a London crime boss, who revels in her new abilities.

Tunde, a Nigerian journalist reporting on seismic global change.

Showrunner: Naomi Alderman in an all-female writers room.

The Power is scouting locations in London, South Africa, Georgia, and New Mexico too, according to Production Weekly.
