STAR CITY 2040 – It’s the year 2040 in Star City and Mia Queen (Katherine McNamara) has everything she could have ever wanted. However, when Laurel (Katie Cassidy) and Dinah (Juliana Harkavy) suddenly show up in her life again, things take a shocking turn and her perfect world is upended. Laurel and Dinah are tracking a kidnapping victim with direct ties to Mia and they need her help. Knowing it will change everything, Mia can’t help but be a hero and she, Laurel and Dinah suit up once again to save the city. Tara Miele directed the episode written by Beth Schwartz & Marc Guggenheim & Jill Blankenship & Oscar Balderrama (#809).
By day:
Filmed at the Paragon Gallery in North Vancouver.
By night:
Oliver Queen passed the mantle to his daughter-from-the-future Mia in Part One of the crossover Crisis on Infinite Earths.

Oliver Queen dies in Crisis on Infinite Earths but is resurrected as the Spectre for a time.
Update: Mia Smoak dies in the Crisis too, but her father as the Spectre reboots the multi-verse and gives her a better life as Mia Queen, growing up happily with her brother William.
In another big change, vigilantes are no longer villains in Star City 2040 with Oliver Queen remembered as a hero — in an Oliver Queen Memorial Drive and a Green Arrow statue in the park.
The #Arrow spinoff takes place in 2040. We already spoiled that Oliver is dead by that time, so his not appearing in Arrow 809 (the spinoff episode) isn’t affected by what happens in Crisis (or, for that matter, the series finale). https://t.co/BkrFGnj6Fl
