The latest in the blockbuster dinosaur franchise is filming in the Kamloops-Merritt region this week and next.

Kamloops unit: February 25th – March 6th, 2020.

Jurassic World: Dominion’s first day of principal photography was Tuesday.

Chris Pratt defined the title.

The best bet to see something was outside the Coldwater Hotel in Merritt on Thursday.

Filming was in the sporting goods store.


This is a location where local extras played mill workers, fishermen and townsfolk.

That’s because the original Jurassic Park trio Sam Neill, Laura Dern and Jeff Goldblum are joining the Jurassic World duo Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard.

Chris Pratt confirmed the original cast’s return on The Ellen Show.

Mamoudou Athie, DeWanda Wise, Dichen Lachman and Scott Haze are expected to be in Jurassic World 3 too, with others still unconfirmed.

What’s the story of Jurassic World: Dominion? An unofficial synopsis has been floating about.

When young Maisie (Isabella Sermon) is abducted by dino-poachers, Owen (Chris Pratt) and Claire (Bryce Dallas Howard) set out to find and rescue her, with their journey taking them to a dinosaur habitat operated by a global corporation with a possibly sinister agenda… that’s even now being investigated by Alan Grant (Sam Neill) and Ellie Sattler (Laura Dern).

We do know that dinosaurs are off the Island now so Jurassic World 3 will shoot for about 100 days all over the world.

World filming dates: February 25th – July 2020.

The bulk of filming for Jurassic World: Dominion takes place in the U.K.’s Pinewood Studios.

The script is unbelievable. Colin Trevorrow who directed Jurassic World  and wrote and directed Jurassic World is coming back to do this one…I can’t wait. . . I will shoot on and off until July….it’s a big one….probably close to 100 shoot days….it’s a massive movie. Jurassic World 3 may have already shot the opening to the movie. A drone camera crew was in Vancouver Island’s Cathedral Forest last week.

Jurassic World starring Chris Pratt grossed $1.67 billion worldwide and is the sixth-highest-grossing film in history.

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom starring Chris Pratt grossed $1.3 billion worldwide.

All together the five Jurassic films have grossed over $5 billion worldwide.

Jurassic World 3 is in theatres June 10th, 2021.
