Sonic the Hedgehog is getting a sequel. Paramount and Sega confirmed to Variety today they’ve started development on a blue blur sequel.

The live-action/animation movie grossed over $58 million on its opening weekend in February and was one of the first released early on home entertainment after theatres shut down around the world out of Covid-19 fears.

What’s it about?

Sonic the Hedgehog (voiced by Ben Schwartz) and the Green Hills Sheriff Tom Wachowski (James Marsden) team up to stop Dr. Eggman Robotnik (Jim Carrey)’s plan for world domination.

At the “tail” end of the movie, Sonic’s buddy Tails shows up in Green Hills.

If these readings are accurate, I’ve found him. I just hope I’m not too late. — Tails.
