The Haunting of Bly Manor is adapted from the 1898 Henry James novella The Turn of the Screw and set at an old country mansion in 1987 with Victoria Pedretti from The Haunting of Hill House as the American tutor looking after the two children — Amelie Smith as Flora and Benjamin Ainsworth as Miles.

While The Haunting of Hill House was about family struggle and trauma, this new Haunting series is about broken hearts and a star-crossed romance, showrunner Mike Flanagan told Vanity Fair.
That sense of romantic longing for someone who meant so much to us—but who’s gone—really is the heart of any ghost story.

T’Nia Miller as Hannah Grose, the manager of Bly Manor.
Henry Thomas as Henry Wingrave, the wealthy uncle of the two orphaned children.
Oliver Jackson-Cohen as Peter Quint, a manipulative business associate of Henry Wingrave.
Kate Siegel’s role is still a secret.
Tahirah Sharif as Miss Rebecca Jessel, the children’s previous governess.
Amelia Eve as groundskeeper Jamie.
