THE END: Mermaids Tale SIREN Has Ended With Three Seasons. Freeform Cancels Show.

Siren

Mermaids tale Siren will not get a season 4 of filming in Vancouver. Freeform has cancelled the series.

What’s Siren about?

A mysterious young woman named Ryn (Eline Powell) arrives in Bristol Cove during its annual Mermaid Days Festival, which celebrates the local legend that this coastal town was once home to mermaids. Marine biologist Ben (Alex Roe) and his girlfriend Maddie Bishop (Fola Evans-Akingola) are drawn to Ryn. Turns out she’s a mermaid and there are others like her.

Eline Powell as Ryn, Alex Roe as Ben, Fola Evans-Akingola as Maddie.

Where did we leave Siren in the now-series finale on May 28th?

Ryn won the bloody mermaid war and is now the de facto leader.

But she’s heartbroken that Ben is missing.  He managed to rescue their daughter Hope from an underwater prison but the last time we sawBen he was floating seemingly lifeless in the water.

The news of Siren’s cancellation is surprising because it proved to be such a big hit for Freeform from its debut season in 2018 though season 2 in 2019 when  it grew to be the platform’s most-watched series.

A double-digit ratings drop  with season 3 this year  probably led to the decision not to renew but Siren was still Freeform’s most-watched original series in “linear ratings”, according to Deadline: Hollywood.

Eric Wald and Dean White co-created the series.

Emily Whitesell was the showrunner.
