NBC’s musical dramedy Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist starts filming season 2 in Vancouver today.

Hope Mary Steenburgen got that early night that husband Ted Danson joked about on the virtual red carpet for the Emmys.

Filming dates: September 21st to March 31st, 2021.

Cast: Jane Levy, Skylar Astin, Peter Gallagher, Alex Newell, John Clarence Stewart, Carmen Cusack, Mary Steenburgen, India De Beaufort, Michael Thomas Grant, Kapil Talwaker, Alice Lee, Stephanie Styles, Harvey Guillén and Lauren Graham.

Zoey’s Playlist had a socially-distanced table read in Vancouver last week.

Zoey Clarke is a computer coder in San Francisco who’s have hard time dealing with the reality that her father Mitch (Peter Gallagher) is dying. After an unusual event, she starts to hear the innermost wants and desires of the people around her through songs. At first, she questions her own sanity but soon realizes this unwanted curse may just be a gift. Add a love triangle between Zoey and her best friend Max (Skylar Astin) and co-worker Simon (John Clarence-Stewart).

Zoey does lose her father to a rare degenerative brain disease in season one. But there is more to figure out with her friend Mo, in her romantic life  (Team Max vs Team Simon) and in her career.

New cast: Harvey Guillén (What We Do in the Shadows) will play new programmer George.

Episodes: 13.

Showrunner Austin Winsberg accompanied the cast north to Vancouver and through 14-day self-quarantines.
