REOPENING: SNOWPIERCER Plans to Return to Vancouver To Complete Filming of Its Season 2 Finale

Snowpiercer Season 2

I’m back and I’ve come to take what’s mine — Mr Wilford.

Mr. Wilford is alive. When Snowpiercer returns with season 2 we meet the train’s creator Mr. Wilford (Sean Bean), who did not die when the train left the station in Chicago without him seven years ago. He took  refuge aboard his prototype of Snowpiercer called Big Alice.

Inspired by Oscar-winner Bong Joon Ho’s futuristic 2013 thriller with Chris Evans, the Snowpiercer series takes place seven years after a post-apocalyptic Ice Age — the Freeze– aboard a perpetually moving train that circles the globe with the rich at the Front and the poor at the Tail end.

In the TNT series, Train managers Melanie Cavill (Jennifer Connelly) and Ruth Wardle (Alison Wright) at the Front end recruit former homicide detective Andre Layton (Daveed Diggs) from the Tail end  to investigate a sadistic murder.

The investigation gives the “Tailie” the means to move between the Classes and access to formerly forbidden areas.

During the investigation, Andre figures out the culprit is in First Class and learns Melanie’s secret — that Mr. Wilford is not aboard and she is the real Boss of the train. For this, she has him drawered.

3rd Class and the Tailies stage a revolt in which Big John (Jonathan Lloyd Walker) is killed.

In the finale, Melanie and Andre team up with a plan to uncouple the cars containing Commander Grey and his enforcers from the two ends and let them veer away (unfortunately with some shackled Tailies). Afterwards the front and tail ends recouple, but Melanie is missing.

It’s a successful revolution for new Tailie Leader Andre Layton until Big Alice couples up to the tail end of Snowpiercer and brings both trains to a halt. Now Mr. Wilford can reclaim what is his from Melanie Cavill. But instead of Mr. Wilford, a young woman boards — Melanie’s daughter (Rowan Blanchard).

Season 2.
