MOVING: Netflix’s SPACE FORCE With Steve Carell Moving Production To Vancouver From L.A. For Season 2

Netflix has renewed space comedy Space Force for season 2, but is moving production to Vancouver from Los Angeles to cut costs.

Filming on season 2 is expected to start next year in Vancouver.

A workplace comedy, Space Force is centered around the people tasked with creating a sixth branch of the armed services.

Steve Carell and The Office showrunner Greg Daniels reunited to create the comedy series as a takeoff on President Donald Trump’s real-life order to establish a sixth military branch called Space Force.

Steve Carell reportedly pockets more than $1 million per episode of Space Force as co-creator, executive producer and star.

Cast: Steve Carell, John Malkovich, Ben Schwartz, Tawny Newsome, Diana Silvers and Jimmy O. Yang.

Characters:

General Mark R. Naird (Steve Carell) is  tasked by the White House with getting “boots on the moon” by 2024.

Brilliant, arrogant Head Science Advisor Dr. Adrian Mallory (John Malkovich) is hoping to prevent space from becoming the next great international battlefield.

Self-centered F. Tony Scarapiducci, (Ben Schwartz) is a  media consultant whose Machiavellian goals only sometimes line up with those of Mark or Space Force.

Erin Naird (Diana Silvers) is Mark’s daughter.

Captain Angela Ali (Tawny Newsome) is a Space Force helicopter pilot and later, astronaut
