After 15 seasons, Supernatural ends where it began with Sam & Dean Winchester on the road in their 1967 Impala, saving people and hunting things.

But also with some ordinary life for “the Boys”, like a 4th of July celebration with pie.

This Thursday opens with a one-hour retrospective:

Supernatural: The Long Road Home, .

he title Carry On refers to the Kansas song Carry On Wayward Son which has played at the beginning of each season finale except season one.

How to film in a pandemic?

Supernatural’s series finale started filming on August 28th, five-and-half months after the coronavirus pandemic shut down film and TV production worldwide on March 13th.

Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles had flown into Vancouver on Sunday, August 2nd, to do 14 days of full quarantine in their Vancouver apartments, and then resume filming of the second-to-last episode, Inherit the Earth.

Both were teary on August 28th as they headed to the start of shooting of the final episode.

As I head out to the first day on my LAST season finale, I can’t help but be incredibly grateful for all that #Supernatural and the #SPNFamily mean to me. It’s been an incredible journey, to say the least. I, for one, am hoping that #SupernaturalNeverDies — Jared Padalecki.

So last night we completed 326 episodes of Supernatural. And at the very end of every one of those scripts are three words — To Be Continued. Today we start episode 327. And at the very botton of the very last page of this script there are only two words — The End…..Happy Friday everybody. — Jensen Ackles chokes up.

Here’s to running into you guys on the other side. – Bobby.

Except for Jim Beaver as Bobby.

Woke up at 6am this morning. That alarm went off with a heavy tone. Today is the final day of a 15 year journey. One that has changed my life forever. To those I have worked with on this journey and to those who have watched and supported…you will never understand my great appreciation for you. “Thank you” doesn’t cover it. There just aren’t words. I’m so grateful for these memories that I will carry with me forever. What a ride it has been. And what a run. #spnfamilyforever here are a few shots from our final days…including today. I’ll try and send more later, but in true SPN form…we are in the middle of “nowhere” and have zero service. Go figure. Stay tuned. — Jensen Ackles.

Jared Padalecki joined Jensen Ackles later, sharing  his thoughts on his way to set.

I write this as I head to my last day of #Supernatural. My last day with #SamWinchester. Obviously, my head is spinning and my emotions are stratospheric, but there’s still a bit of time left on the clock. Thank y’all SO MUCH for the incredible amount of love and support that’s been headed our way, in these final hours. It’s definitely been felt. I’ll check in soon, but, for now, #WeHaveWorkToDo. #spnfamily

Here’s the beautiful mountain vista at Spur 4 Bridge in the Lower Seymour Conservation Reserve where the show ends.

Sam & Dean & Baby have been on the Spur 4 Bridge before in season five, episode 2 Good God, Y’all.

Filming the last scene of the last episode.

The End.
