Shōgun — an FX limited series adapted from James Clavell’s novel — starts filming in Vancouver this summer, with Cosmo Jarvis as John Blackthorne and Hiroyuki Sanada as Lord Toranaga. The Lady Mariko role is not yet cast.
Filming dates: September 22nd to April 22, 2022.

Shōgun is set in feudal Japan. It charts the collision of two ambitious men from different worlds and a mysterious female samurai: John Blackthorne (CosmoJarvis), a risk-taking English sailor who ends up shipwrecked in Japan, a land whose unfamiliar culture will ultimately redefine him; Lord Toranaga (Hiroyuki Sanada), a shrewd, powerful daimyo, at odds with his own dangerous, political rivals; and Lady Mariko, a woman with invaluable skills but dishonorable family ties who must prove her value and allegiance.
