NEW SEASON: The Very Funny RESIDENT ALIEN Starts Filming Season 2

Harry is an alien passing himself off as a human who’s made some friends in the small town of Patience, Colorado.

Season 2 of Syfy’s hit series Resident Alien, with Alan Tudyk as Harry, starts filming today.

Filming dates: August 3rd to March 25th, 2022.

Showrunner: Chris Sheridan.

Cast: Alan Tudyk, Sara Tomko, Corey Reynolds, Alice Wetterlund, Levi Fiehler, Judah Preh.

What happened in season one?

The OG Harry Vanderspeigle (Alan Tudyk) was thrown into a frozen lake after a spaceship crash-landed near his cabin and an alien assumed his shape. But it turns out we don’t have to feel so bad about OG Harry’s death after discovering that it was him who murdered Dr. Sam Hodges. Why? We’ll find out in season 2.

Over the course of season one, Harry the alien (Alan Tudyk) posed as the small-town doctor and started to care about the humans he came to know, even his pint-sized nemesis Max (Judah Preh) who could see his alien form.

In the season finale, Harry the alien heads home to his planet only to discover Max has stowed away on his spaceship.

Spoiler alert: Max will be the reason Harry the alien turns around in season 2 and heads back to Patience, a place where the walls are closing in on him a bit more.

Resident Alien filmed season one in Vancouver and Ladysmith in two tranches — before and after the Covid pandemic abruptly shut down film & TV production worldwide in March 2020.

Harry’s cabin filmed at Minaty Bay on the Sea to Sky Highway.

Canadian Motion Picture Park’s Main Street set in south Burnaby as Patience, Colorado with CGI-ed snowy mountains.

Ladysmith on Vancouver Island as Patience, Colorado.

The pilot filmed here in 2018.

Not only was Resident Alien the most-watched cable drama in viewers and #2 in the key 18-49 demo, it’s Syfy’s highest-rated new drama in six years in total viewers and a big time-shifting success too.

The series is adapted from the Dark Horse Comic co-created by Peter Hogan and Steve Parkhouse.
