THE FLASH’s Hero Lineup For Its 5-Part Crossover-Style Armageddon Event

Updated:

The Flash announced its hero lineup for its 5-part crossover-style Armageddon event this Fall.

A powerful alien Despero (Tony Curran) arrives on Earth under mysterious circumstances and Barry (Grant Gustin), Iris (Candice Patton) and the rest of Team Flash are pushed to their limits in a desperate battle to save the world. But with time running out, and the fate of humanity at stake, Flash and his companions will also need to enlist the help of some old friends if the forces of good are to prevail.

Team Flash will be joined by the new Batwoman (Javicia Leslie), Black Lightning (Cress Williams), Sentinel (Chyler Leigh), The Atom (Brandon Routh), & the new Green Arrow (Kat McNamara). Ryan Choi (Osric Chau) will be back and is expected to suit up as The Atom, too.

The Flash showrunner Eric Wallace approached Supergirl’s Chyler Leigh saying he had a special role for her.

I am very, very, very grateful to be part of it. I was asked if I was interested, and if I wanted to…take part and I was like, ‘Uhhh, hell yeah’. I knew I wasn’t quite done with Alex [Danvers] or Sentinel. I just had that feeling, you know? Along the way, I was like ‘I’m just not … I’m not ready yet!’ — Chyler Leigh told The Wrap.

Last I spoke with Eric [Wallace] …Alex does get to have a really, pretty special part of the event. — Chyler Leigh told The Wrap.

But Alex’s sister Kara Danvers (Melissa Benoist) aka Supergirl is missing from the hero lineup, as are the White Canary (Caity Lotz), Superman (Tyler Hoechlin) and Stargirl, (Bec Bassinger).

Kat McNamara.

Team Villain: Eobard Thawne/Reverse Flash (Tom Cavanagh) and Damien Darhk (Neal McDonogh).

Armageddon began filming August 16th in Vancouver and premieres November 16th on The CW.

Eric Dean Seaton is directing the first episode.

Cat’s out the bag on [The Flash] Armageddon! It’s a big one! Storyboards are fire, the shot list is packed, and the tone notes are full of drama, emotion, fun, and heart. Consumed 6 movies for various reasons related to the job at hand. And I came away with even more love and appreciation for shows like The Flash where you get 7 prep days to successfully figure out how to pull off the magic that a movie takes months of planing to do. These crews, cast and writers don’t get enough credit for basically making a half a movie in one eighth the time. It’s so much fun to figure out, but make no mistake it really is a skill. Your only real enemy is the Time Lord and the Time Bandits which can’t be beaten, but can be manipulated. We are coming for you Time Lord! I look forward to our continuing battle.  – Eric Dean Seaton.
