DEAD BOY DETECTIVES Pilot for HBO Max Starts Filming in Vancouver

The Dead Boy Detectives pilot for HBO Max has started filming in Vancouver but the roles have been recast since the detectives first made their appearance on season 3 of Doom Patrol.
Jayden Revri is now Charles Rowland, George Rexstrew is Edwin Payne and Kassius Nelson is Crystal Palace.
Based on the DC Comics characters created by Neil Gaiman, the one-hour series would follow the Dead Boy Detectives — Edwin Payne (spelling change) and Charles Rowland — who decided not to enter the afterlife in order to stay on earth and investigate crimes involving the supernatural.
Supernatural’s Ruth Connell returns as the demon Night Nurse. She debuted the character on Doom Patrol.

Other cast: Supernatural’s Alexander Calvert is ThomasThe Cat King; Briana Cuoco is Jenny, a punk butcher; Jenn Lyon is Esther, a witch; and Yuyu Kitamura is Niko, a student who wants to join the agency.
Filming dates: December 6th 2021 to January 7th 2022

The graphic novels follow two teenagers who were murdered at St. Hilarion’s Boarding School: Edwin Paine, in 1916 by a group of bullies, and Charles Rowland, in 1990 by the ghosts of the same group of bullies. When the two spirits meet and are not taken to Hell, they instead start up a detective agency together. At a later point, Charles saves the life of Crystal Palace and she joins the agency as its only living member using her skills with technology and as a psychic to aid their investigations.
Sebastian Croft was Charles Rowland, Ty Tennant was Edwin Payne and Madalyn Horcher was Crystal Palace when the.Dead Boy Detectives appeared on Doom Patrol.
